Bruins Open LAX Season with Two Wins

After topping The Hill School on Saturday at home, Brunswick traveled to Morristown, N.J., on Wednesday and earned an 11–6 win over nationally ranked Delbarton School.

The Bruins got off to a strong start in the first quarter, controlling possession at the faceoff X behind Owen Gibbons and MJ Maraglino, and capitalizing with goals from senior captain Lucas Garcia and sophomore Austin Tuttle.

Defensively, Brunswick put together a steady performance throughout the 48 minutes, winning the ground ball battle and limiting Delbarton’s opportunities. The hosts did respond late in the first half, though, narrowing the margin to 6–5 heading into the break.

After a physical and competitive third quarter, the Bruins pulled away behind a dominant defensive effort and strong play in goal from senior Will Connell. Connell made several key saves in the second half, helping shift momentum and allowing the Brunswick offense to extend the lead and secure the 11–6 victory.

Brunswick returns to action Saturday with its first NE West 1 league matchup, traveling up Route 91 to face Deerfield.
