Bruins Honor Seniors, Top Deerfield on Cosby Field

The Bruins sent their 27 seniors out in style with a dominant 42–14 win over Deerfield Academy on Cosby Field on Saturday evening.

Brunswick set the tone early, controlling possession and tempo throughout the opening quarter. The defense forced a quick three-and-out on Deerfield’s opening drive, and the offense immediately capitalized — marching down the field in three plays to take a 7–0 lead after one.

The second quarter brought plenty of offense. Deerfield briefly tied the game at 7–7, but that would be its final score of the half. Brunswick responded with three unanswered touchdowns, including one with just eight seconds remaining before halftime, to take a commanding 28–7 lead into the break.

The Bruins’ defense continued to dominate after halftime, shutting out Deerfield in the third quarter while the offense added two more scores to extend the lead to 42–7. Deerfield managed one final touchdown in the fourth, but Brunswick remained firmly in control from start to finish.

With the win, the Bruins improve to 6–2 and strengthen their position for postseason bowl play.

Brunswick wraps up the regular season next Saturday, November 8, when they travel to face Williston Northampton.
