Bruins Fall to Loomis, Face Lawrenceville on Wednesday

On a cloudy Easter Saturday at Cosby Field, Brunswick fell to league rival Loomis Chaffee, 15–10, in front of a packed home crowd.

The Bruins struck first with a goal from senior Sean Ryan, followed by tallies from junior Sawyer Sachs and senior captain Matt Colella. Loomis responded with a strong push late in the first quarter to take a 5–3 lead.

Brunswick’s defense tightened in the second quarter, anchored by senior captain John Buttafuoco along with Jake Greene, Harrison Hantman, and Luke Hall, holding Loomis scoreless for the frame to keep the deficit at two heading into halftime.

Loomis regained momentum in the third, capitalizing on penalties to extend its lead, eventually going up 11–4 early in the fourth quarter. The Bruins responded with an impressive surge, scoring six straight goals to pull within one at 11–10 late in the game.

Senior goalie Will Connell led the charge from the back end with key saves, while senior Ryan Baxter made a major impact across the field with ground balls, caused turnovers, and a pivotal goal. Sophomores Parker Baras, David Giuriceo, Austin Tuttle, and Sawyer Bligh all contributed during the run, with Bligh delivering a key hit that sparked a transition opportunity.

Despite the late push, time ran short, and Loomis added a pair of goals in the closing moments to secure the win.
