Brunswick traveled to Wallingford to take on Choate Rosemary Hall on Saturday in the New England Class A Leon Modeste Bowl game, ultimately falling to the Wild Boars by a score of 27-9 to end a very successful season of football for the Bruins.
The first quarter ticked by rather quickly as each team only had one offensive possession, Brunswick's ending in a punt and Choate's continuing through the end of the first quarter as the game remained scoreless after one. As the second quarter started, Choate finished its possession with a touchdown and missed extra point. Brunswick struck back on its next drive with a 33-yard field goal to cut the home team's lead to 6-3. Senior safety Ethan Long then ended Choate's next possession early with an interception that he returned into the Wild Boars' half of the field. The Bruins tied the game at six off the foot of senior Oliver Reynolds with a 52-yard field goal as time expired on the half
Choate came out of half time on offense and scored another touchdown on a long drive down the field to go ahead, 13-6. This was the only score of the third quarter as the Bruins looked to get things going offensively in the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, Reynolds once again cut the Choate lead with his third field goal of the day, this time from 37 yards. The Wild Boars would go on to score their third touchdown of the day and extend their lead to 20-9. The Bruins struggled to make their way down the field and were ultimately held to just three field goals as Choate scored one last time before time expired on the season.
