Bruins Cap Strong Season at USRowing Youth National Championships

Brunswick delivered a strong performance at the 2026 USRowing Youth National Championships in Sarasota, highlighted by a fifth-place finish in the A Final of the Men's Youth Four.

After winning the Men's Youth Four at the Northeast Youth Championships to qualify for nationals, the Brunswick crew of George Kapp, Phil Martone, Rhodes Pollack, and Quinn Evans continued its fine form in Florida. The Bruins placed third in a 28-boat time trial and followed that with a second-place finish in their semifinal, advancing to the A Final. In Sunday's championship race, Brunswick finished fifth in the nation, crossing the line less than one second out of fourth place.

The result was particularly impressive given the strength of the field, as national championship events are traditionally dominated by club programs. Brunswick was one of only six scholastic programs nationwide to record a top-five finish in any of the seven men's varsity boat classes.

The Bruins also earned a strong result in the Men's Youth Double. After qualifying through the Northeast Championships, Gabe Amaro and Gavin Spraker advanced to the D Final and finished second in their race.
