Bruins Advance in FAA Hoops Tournament

Brunswick won an FAA quarterfinal matchup against Hamden Hall, 70-60, in Dann Gym on Monday.

It was a slow start for the home team, who found themselves in a 8-0 hole after the first three minutes of play as the ball didn’t move enough against the opposing zone defense to create quality scoring chances.

Coming out of halftime with a 27-26 lead, the Bruins began to hit their stride, finding open space in the Hornets defense and pushing the ball in transition. But every time the Brunswick extended the lead, Hamden Hall fought back. Up three with just over a minute to play, Jaylen Johnson hit the shot of the game, a three pointer to give the Bruins control once and for all.

Rhaki Lum led the way with 21 points. Connor Robinson had 14 and Jaylen Johnson and Mason Jarvis added 13.

Brunswick will host Masters in the semifinals on Wednesday in Dann Gym.
