Baseball Drops Decision to Loomis

Brunswick dropped an 8–5 decision to Loomis on Saturday afternoon at Edwards Campus.

Reid Glanville got the start on the mound for the Bruins, allowing two runs (none earned) on two hits over three innings while striking out four and walking two. Julian Dyson, Steven Degree, and Jayden Montanez all saw time in relief.

Loomis opened the scoring in the first inning, taking advantage of a Brunswick error and adding a sacrifice fly to jump out to a 2–0 lead. The Bruins responded in the bottom of the third, taking a 3–2 advantage behind a walk and a fielder's choice from Michael Marini and Jack Bylow, respectively.

After Loomis tied the game at 3–3 in the fifth, Brunswick answered once again. Jack Nardis delivered an RBI single to break the tie, and Montanez followed with a bases-loaded walk to extend the lead to 5–3.

The game turned in the top of the sixth, when Loomis scored five runs on three hits to take control. A two-run single highlighted the inning and proved to be the difference.

Brunswick will look to bounce back on Monday against Hamden Hall, with Johnny Gally slated to start on the mound.
