Despite numerous personal records, Brunswick finished second in the FAA Championship meet on Saturday.
Nearly every Bruin, over 90%, achieved personal bests, and all gave 110%. The final outcome was extremely close; after a dramatic end to the meet with the final races and the javelin, the team finished in second by three points. The team scores were as follows: GCDS 147, Wick 144, Masters 97, RYCD 81.5, GFA 12, Hopkins 10.75, King 2.
'Wick's leading scorer was Nathan Lee. While he did not get another school record this week, he came in first in the 800, 1500, and 3000, earning 30 points. One school record was broken by Patch Leonard in the 300 hurdles, who came in second.
Other outstanding performances came from Tyler Lloyd, first in the shot put and third in the long jump; Teddy Hojlo, who came in second in both the 1500 and the 3000; Finn Sargent, first in the discus; Ryan Ohl, first in the javelin; and additional second place finishes by Luke Brooks (javelin) and Declan Cunningham (high jump).
