The Brunswick baseball team closed out the regular season with a 5-1 victory at St. Luke's on Thursday.
Teddy Bancroft got the start on the mound and pitched four scoreless innings. He pounded the zone, challenging the St. Luke’s hitters. Jackson Cunningham was first in relief and was extremely efficient, going two scoreless innings of his own. Michael Marini came in for the seventh and closed the door on the matchup.
The Brunswick offense came to play, as they threatened with base runners in every single Inning. The second is when the first runs were scored, as both Connor Jones and Wim Nook doubled to score a run, making the score 2-0. Three more runs came across in the fifth, as Jones scored on a passed ball and Jerry Guzman had a sac fly to bring in Nook.
Brunswick now heads into the semi-final game of the FAA Tournament, as the Bruins, the two-seed, will host St. Luke's on Tuesday. Bancroft will get the start.
