Brunswick (14-3) took second place as a team at the 2023 FAA (Fairchester Athletic Association) Wrestling Championships held at Rye Country Day School.
While Brunswick won its first three dual meets in commanding fashion over Hopkins, RCDS, and GCDS, the Bruins fell to a talented GFA team.
Three Brunswick wrestlers earned FAA All-League honors: Quinn McGraw '26 (20-4), Whip Gorman '24 (11-4), and Michael Marini '26 (20-9). Additionally, Alec Harned '26 (17-3) was voted by the coaches as FAA All-League Honorable Mention.
McGraw avenged previous losses to his Hopkins opponent (including last weekend's BIT semi-finals) with a 5-3 (SV) overtime win. McGraw, who earned FAA All-League last year, also had two pins, going 4-0 on the day at the 120 lb. weight class.
Gorman, stepping into the varsity lineup for an injured senior captain at 165 lb., also went 4-0 on the day. Gorman earned a hard-fought 5-2 win by decision over his opponent from GFA and pinned two other opponents.
Marini took four forfeits for his team, while Harned went 3-1 on the day including a 7-2 win by decision over a tough opponent from Hopkins.
