Brunswick cross country earned runner-up honors at the FAA Championships on Monday at Sherwood Park.
All-League honors were claimed by Nathan Lee, who placed second overall with a time of 16:59, and Luke Dougherty who secured fifth in 17:23. Honorable Mention was awarded to Patrick Duncan, who moved up midrace to earn 20th in 18:48. Strong performances from the pack of Charlie Stemerman (27th — 19:09), Niki Sulkowski (28th — 19:10) and Hunter Wu (31st — 19:18) secured the finish, while Arjun Kolluri (45th — 20:55) rounded out the scoring substituting for the injured Keiran Raker.
“It was a true team effort, as Lee and Dougherty got out well with the leaders, and made significant moves in the final mile, while Duncan surged during the latter half of the race, and Sulkowski dug for that little extra in the final sprint,” Head Coach Steve Polikoff said.
“The whole team, JV included, left it out on the course today. They showed a lot of pride.”
