Varsity water polo opened its season with three victories over the weekend — topping Connecticut Premier Water Polo Club (18-8), Greenwich High School (14-11), and Greenwich Aquatics (22-10) in games played at the Greenwich YMCA and Mehra Natatorium.
The Bruins were led on the scoresheet by senior tri-captain Danny Taylor and junior Luke Apostolides, who each tallied nine goals on the weekend. The Ohl brothers, J.P. ’22 and Ryan ’24, netted eight and six markers, respectively. Senior tri-captain Gavin Molloy had five goals to go along with a team-high nine assists.
Senior Hayden Collins led the defensive unit in goal with 19 saves, including 11 against the Cardinals; while sophomore Ryan Miele had seven saves in between the pipes.
Brunswick returns to the water against Staples High School on Friday, October 16.
