In the final game of the season, 13 different Bruins scored in a 14-1 romp of league foe Berkshire on Saturday. The road win caps Brunswick’s overall season record at 16-2 overall and 10-1 in NEW-1 conference play. The Bruins are currently ranked seventh in the nation in the latest Under Armour/Inside Lacrosse poll.
The Bruins used a six-goal run in the first quarter to take command of the contest. Liam Fairback netted a goal and fed two more scores, as Michael Gottlieb had two helpers during the run. Additionally, Coulter Mackesy posted his team-leading 27th goal in the first stanza.
Berkshire stopped the Brunswick scoring surge with a goal to open the second quarter, as Gottlieb and Brodie Firestein added tallies as the Bruins took an 8-1 lead into the half.
The Bruins tacked on three more goals in the third quarter, as defenseman Charles Packard notched his first goal of the season.
Leading 11-1 in the fourth quarter, Brunswick added another three goals of the 14-1 final.
Christian Barnard made several keys stops over the first three quarters in net for the Bruins, as Henry Foster was in goal for the final frame.
