    Leyton Borcherding Sails to Bronze at European Championship

    Brunswick’s Leyton Borcherding, along with skipper Max Anker, took third place in the U-17 class at the 2017 Open 420 European Championships in Athens, Greece. During the six-day, 12-race championship, the Americans picked up a pair of first place finishes, collecting a total of 94 points, as the winning boat from Italy sailed away from the fleet with 62 points.

    Brunswick graduate Charlie Pang '17 was selected as a third-team All-American in water polo by NISCA/Speedo. The Bruins goalie, who is headed to Brown University in September, helped Brunswick win its third straight NEPSAC title this past fall.

    Brunswick’s John Lin won the Y-12 sabre event at the USFA National Championships in Salt Lake City earlier this month. Lin, a rising seventh-grader at Brunswick who entered the preliminaries as the top seed in a pool of 172 participants, won the championship in a nail-biting title match, 15-14.

    Cameron Evans Takes Bronze at British Fencing Championships

    Cameron Evans, a rising ninth-grader at Brunswick, took third place in the Cadet foil event at the 2017 Cadet and Junior British Championships in Nottingham, England, earlier in July. Evans, a 15-year-old dual citizen, was unranked entering both the Cadet (U-17) and Junior (U-20) class.

    Brunswick’s Leyton Borcherding, along with skipper Max Anker, won the 420 class at the 2017 U.S. Youth Sailing Championships in Corpus Christi, Texas. The winning duo earned the U.S. title by one point in come-from-behind fashion, besting the race leader on the ninth and final race.
