• Students Shine at Coding Competition

  Brunswick’s computer science team of Ajay Bagaria ’24, Jack Whitney-Epstein ’26, and Vikram Sarkar ’26 earned second place in the TigerHacks Coding Competition — an event hosted by Greenwich Country Day School on November 11.

  Eight Brunswick seniors — Ryan Ohl in water polo; Payton Anderson, Hudson Hausmann, Luke Hublitz, and Casey Quinson in lacrosse; Calder Glassman and Michael Yeager in baseball; and Will Harned in golf — signed National Letters of Intent (NLI) on Wednesday, November 8.

  Kevin M. Simon, M.D., M.P.H, the first-ever Chief Behavioral Health Officer for the Boston Public Health Commission, visited Brunswick to speak with parents and Upper School students about resiliency, grit, and growth mindset on October 17.

  Thirteen Brunswick seniors have been named Commended Students in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program. 

• Perfect Score Just One of 16 Worldwide

  Vikram Sarkar ’26 earned a perfect score of five on the May 2023 AP Calculus BC exam — and was one of only 16 students (amounting to just 0.01% of 2023 AP Calculus BC Exam takers) from around the world to earn every point possible on this challenging, college-level examination.

  The Brunswick community convened on Thursday, Sept. 14, for its Annual Meeting & Dinner — the traditional, opening-of-school gathering of parents and faculty held in Burke Field House during the first full week of the school year.

• A Significant & Strategic Step Forward

  Brunswick has acquired 270 Lake Avenue — a wonderful and unique property in Central Greenwich. Encompassing nearly 17 acres, it is arguably one of the last available large plots of land in town. The property includes many historic, architecturally significant, and high-quality school buildings.

• Eight Seniors 'Merit' National Recognition

  Eight Brunswick seniors were announced on Wednesday, Sept. 13, as semifinalists in the 69th annual National Merit Scholarship Program, joining 16,000 students nationwide.

  After members of the Class of 2024 processed hand-in-hand with first graders into Dann Gymnasium on Edwards Campus — a longtime First Day tradition — Head of School Thomas W. Philip opened Brunswick’s 121st year by addressing the faculty and student body.

  Kristine Brennan, Drew Dawson, Steve Mandes, and Jenn Spaulding were honored with the Appleseed Awards — given in recognition of faculty members who have shown exceptional dedication to inspiring and encouraging Brunswick boys in their academic, athletic, and extracurricular pursuits — at opening faculty meetings on Wednesday, August 30.

• In Memoriam: Grace Warne, 1964-2023

  Grace Nicklas Warne — an Upper School math teacher and advisor at Brunswick since 2006— died Saturday, August 12, after a long illness.

• Closing Ceremonies Cap 2022–2023 School Year

  The Brunswick community gathered in Dann Gymnasium on Tuesday, June 6, for Closing Ceremonies — an annual spring event to conclude the school year and honor students and faculty for outstanding accomplishments in the classroom, on the athletic fields, and throughout the community.

  Brunswick graduated 107 students in the Class of 2023 in its 121th Commencement exercises on May 17 — with cool and windy conditions under spectacular May sunshine and a bright blue sky.

  Matthew Walker Ph.D., a world-renowned sleep expert, visited Brunswick to speak with students, faculty, and parents about the imperative of sleep and its foundational role in education and all of human health and wellness.

• 'Wick-Sponsored Mine-Detecting Dog Returns to Campus

  MDD Rico Cosby, an eight-year-old Belgian Malinois who worked for six years in Bosnia and Herzegovina sniffing out landmines, returned to Brunswick in April to visit with Middle Schoolers — and offer a real-world demonstration of the life-saving skills he brought to his daily work in the war-torn region.

• Math Team Captures New England Championship

  Brunswick's Upper School math team traveled to Shrewsbury High School in Massachusetts to take part in the New England math team competition on Friday, emerging victorious in the small-school division.
