Brunswick exploded for five goals in the second period of a scoreless game against Hoosac to best the Owls in Hartong Rink on Saturday, 8-3. The Bruins (8-5-2) had seven different skaters score at least one goal in the win.
Co-captain Nick VanBelle opened the second period with his 15th goal of the season, scoring less than a minute into the frame.
Goals by Charles Shaffer (4th), Nick Boardman (3rd), and Aaron Aboodi (4th) followed, before Tom Richter netted his first career goal for the Bruins at 12:11.
With his team leading 5-1 heading into the third period, Boardman netted his fourth of the season at 1:03. Tim Carter followed with his first-ever Brunswick goal less than two minutes later. And co-captain Christian LeSeuer finished the Brunswick scoring with his 11th on the year at 13:26.
Brunswick goalie Dan Dachille picked up his third win of the year -- and his first on home ice -- with 28 saves.
The Bruins return to action on Saturday, January 21, hosting Hill at 5:30 p.m.
