Poetry Out Loud: Students Earn Recitation Medals

Brunswick modern language students earned medals for their recitations at the Connecticut Council of Language Teachers (CT COLT) poetry recitation contest, held at East Haven High School on Wednesday, April 6.

Ali Hindy ’21 and Dylan Ofori ’19 — reciting “Tranquility” by Mikhail Naima and “Who Am I, Without Exile?” by Mahmoud Darwish, respectively — both brought home top honors for their recitations in Arabic, while Thomas Wiener ’19 was awarded a bronze medal for his French recitation of René-François Prudhomme’s poem "L'Habitude.”

CT COLT is a non-profit organization that promotes language proficiency and the knowledge of world cultures, advocating for world language learning for all students at all grade levels since its founding in 1968.
