On Wednesday, October 15, Branden Davis ’15 was honored by the Westchester County Youth Bureau as one of ten students to receive a Milly Kibrick Youth Service Award.
The awards are given in memory of Milly Kibrick, a prominent county social worker and youth activist who dedicated her life to helping underprivileged children.
Davis, a White Plains resident, is president of Brunswick’s Diversity in Action club, a member of the football and track teams, and an active participant in the theater.
He is also involved in community service, working to raise money for causes including Project Blessing Rwanda, the Breast Cancer Alliance, and the American Cancer Society.
Marianne Ho Barnum, director of multiculturalism and inclusion, nominated Davis for the award.
“Branden is passionate about helping those in need. He continues to impress me by the variety of community service activities he participates in, and constantly stretches himself by digging deeper to understand the world around him,” Barnum said.
