Baseball Team Notches FAA Win

The varsity baseball team took care of business on Saturday afternoon, topping Hopkins by the score of 12-1.

It was solid bounce-back performance after a tough loss to Hamden Hall earlier in the week.

Jackson Shepelsky started on the mound and provided five strong innings of work. Shepelsky pounded the zone, keeping the Hopkins lineup to a mere one run. Shepelsky continues to be a dominant presence for the Bruins, increasing his record to 2-0 on the year.

The bats came back to life on this day, as the Brunswick hitters had a great approach at the plate. They put up an impressive 12 runs through five innings and eventually ended the game early with the 10-run rule.

Some notables: Alex Giannuzzi singled in the first inning, scoring two to get the game going. Carlo Tucci singled up the middle in the 3rd to score one more. Connor Jones singled to left to score to runs of his own in the 4th. Grayson O’Hara singled to bring in one. Michael Yeager had an excellent day with the bat, hitting the ball hard in every one of his at bats and finishing with two hits. Reed Hyde contributed with two RBIs.

Brunswick’s next matchup takes place on Tuesday, as the team will face off against Rye Country Day School. Calder Glassman will get the start.
