Baseball Team Picks Up Third Straight Win

The varsity baseball team continued to roll on Saturday afternoon, as the Bruins topped a talented Loomis team by the score of 10-2.

Calder Glassman started on the mound in what was his first appearance as a Bruin – and the senior provided three strong innings, keeping the Loomis lineup off balance.

Sophomore Teddy Bancroft then came in for the 4th inning, giving the squad three more solid innings of his own. Bancroft pounded the zone, trusted his defense, and was able to hold the Loomis score to two.

Freshman Ty Ostrowski was the final Brunswick pitcher and shut the door in the 7th with a very efficient 10-pitch inning.

The offense continues to be a dominating force for the Bruins — swinging the bats extremely well.

Some of the notables: Connor Jones got the ball rolling as he drove a single up the middle scoring two in the 2nd inning. Michael Yeager than had a big swing of his own, driving a double down the left field line and bringing in two more runs in the 4th inning. Wim Nook than cashed in on a bases loaded opportunity, singling to bring two more insurance runs across to score in the sixth inning.

Overall, Brunswick played a complete seven innings of baseball, never taking their feet off the gas.

The Bruins will face a very talented, scrappy Hamden Hall team on Monday in an FAA matchup. Yeager will get the start.
