'Wick Survives in FAA Quarterfinals

Brunswick survived and advanced in the first round of the FAA playoffs, beating Hopkins 66-58 in overtime on Tuesday. 

It was a back and forth first half that saw the Bruins go on multiple runs to take comfortable advantages, only to have those runs countered by the Hilltoppers offensive execution.

Brunswick led 30-21 at half, but it became clear that the visitors would not go down without a fight. As Hopkins hit shot after shot, Brunswick continued to keep pace and had a look to finish the game as time expired in regulation, but it didn’t drop.

The four minute overtime was all Brunswick as junior guard Ethan Long put the team on his back and scored all 15 of their points in extra time, finishing with a game high 31. Jack Stevens also had 15 on the night. 

Brunswick plays Hamden Hall in the semifinals on Thursday at 5 p.m. in Dann Gym.
