Brunswick Tops Taft in Shoulder Check Game

It was a special Saturday afternoon at Hartong Rink, as Brunswick and Taft played in honor of Hayden Thorsen and Shoulder Check – Reach Out, Check In, Make Contact – and the teams put on a good show of hockey before 'Wick earned a 3-0 win. 

As the Bruins have done all season, they just found a way – especially after the quick turnaround from last night's tilt at Gunn. 

The good news for the Bruins was that senior goaltender Will Baker was on his game from the start and Taft could never break through despite making a big push in the third. 

'Wick scored one in each period – a shorthanded tally by Sean Gibbons, a finished off face-off play by Ryan Wachtel, and a seeing-eye ENG by Cooper Cleaves – to earn its 25th win of the season.

As of this writing, Brunswick is ranked fourth in the hunt for the Elite 8. 

T-P will visit Hartong on Senior Night next Friday. 7 p.m. start.
