Brunswick and Hill offered up a much more competitive battle than Friday night in Pottstown, as the Bruins needed an empty-net goal to fend off the Blues by a score of 5-3 at Hartong Rink on Saturday afternoon.
Senior Ryan Wachtel was the star of the game for 'Wick, as the Princeton commit tallied two goals – the second of which was a beautiful individual effort while shorthanded and just after Hill had erased a three-goal deficit and cut the score to 3-2 in the second period.
Hill didn't go away and got it back to one – 4-3 – with 2:39 left in the contest before senior Brendan Giles put it away with an ENG with 10 seconds to play.
'Wick outshot Hill, 36-20, and dominated the first period but couldn't pull away and had to find a way to win in the third – not a bad thing for a hockey team.
The Bruins head into exams this week with a record of 15-1-2 – unbeaten in 17 straight and on a 13-game win streak.
