Brunswick completed the two-game sweep against Upper Canada College today by a score of 6-2 in front of a sizable Saturday-matinee crowd at Hartong Rink.
Senior Brendan Giles continued his hot goal-scoring spree with a hat trick to push his season tally to 16 – and fellow classmate Jake Minella added a goal and assist to help lead the Bruins to victory. The duo combined on the second goal of the game – a shorthanded marker – after Minella blocked a shot in the d-zone and ultimately dished it to Giles on a 2 on 1 for a beautiful backhand finish to put the Bruins in front by two after one.
'Wick stretched the lead to four midway through the second before UCC made a push and closed the deficit to 4-2 with 12:44 to go in the contest.
Sophomore Dylan Lee-Stack closed the door on any further opportunities, and the Bruins tacked on an ENG and one more before the buzzer to cap the scoring.
