'Wick Unites for All-School Holiday Celebration

It’s an annual and joyful tradition.

Brunswick boys of all ages commenced a well-deserved holiday break with a spirited and cheerful all-school rendition of “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” The fun was on display in abundance at a musical all-school assembly on Friday, December 15.

Boys gathered at Burke Field House for the colorful Brunswick tradition, capping a season of performances from students in every division, from an Upper School Holiday Concert that packed the house at Baker Theater to popular performances by ’Wick’s youngest and the annual Brunswick Latin Carol Service, held for the first time at St. Bede’s Chapel on the school’s new 270 Lake Avenue Campus.

And, once again, students spent the season in outreach to others.

At the Pre School, a “Mitten Tree” was set up in the lobby. ’Wick’s youngest spent the month adorning it with warm hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, and socks that were donated to local organizations.

For the eighth consecutive year, Lower School boys participated in an “Operation Santa 2” service project by donating items in support of children of Public School 55 in the Bronx. Each Brunswick class was invited to donate items as part of a collective effort to provide each school child with a drawstring bag filled with necessities -- along with a few fun holiday gifts.

Middle School students helped collect and deliver holiday gifts to families in need at Don Bosco in Port Chester. Members of the Community Service Club also spent time writing more than 50 holiday cards to residents at Nathaniel Witherell, a short-term rehabilitation and skilled-nursing center located in Greenwich. The cards helped bring holiday cheer and smiles to residents.

Upper Schoolers donated gift cards to Family Centers of Greenwich, Boys and Girls Club of Greenwich, Inspirica of Stamford, Don Bosco Center in Port Chester, and Waterside School — bringing much-needed holiday joy to children and families of all ages.

Now, Brunswick boys and their families look forward to a well-deserved break and return to classes in January 2024.
