Four Perfect Scores Highlight Math Team's Win

Brunswick earned first place in the third match of the Fairfield County Math League season on Wednesday, tallying 100 points (out of a possible 126).

The team’s closest competing school in this match was Wilton High School (78 points), with Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Staples, and Ridgefield High Schools closely following them. Brunswick’s closest competing private schools, GCDS and King School, were right behind Ridgefield with 61 and 52 points, respectively. Thirty public and private schools took part.

Of note, Andrew Tu ’24, Vikram Sarkar ’26, Jack Whitney-Epstein ’26, and Jeremy Lee ’25 earned perfect scores in the match.

“It used to be a rare event to have one student earning this distinction; it might happen once or twice in a year,” said coach and Upper School math instructor Michael Allwood.

“Furthermore, the questions are much harder now than they were around five years ago, so to have four students achieve this distinction in a single match is a phenomenal event.”

Ryan Ahn '25 and Ajay Bagaria '24 also represented the Bruins, while nine other students participated on the B1 and B2 teams.
