Brunswick cross country finished its remarkable season with a seventh place finish at the NEPSTA Division 1 Cross Country Championships this past weekend.
The small cohort of only eight runners managed to place in the top half of the most elite division, matching the program’s best-ever finish since being promoted from Division II in 2012.
Nathan Lee (5th) and Teddy Hojlo (15th) earned All-New England recognition. Lee was one of five runners in the field to break the previous course record, while Hojlo continued his incredible ascent with another personal best performance.
Captain Luke Dougherty (43) and Captain Patrick Duncan (48) maintained their late season form, and Armaan Lakhani (75) braved the pain to secure this season’s team among the school’s best ever. Arjun Kolluri (83) and Alex Mastellone (101) rounded out the Bruins’ scoring.
“It’s been the most unlikely result given our paltry numbers, youth, and injured captain," said Head Coach Steve Polikoff. "There’s something to be said about the special sauce of our boys’ camaraderie, and this team would not be denied.”
