Nine in a Row: Water Polo Wins NEPSAC Title

After defeating Choate in the semifinals, Brunswick captured the NEPSAC Water Polo Championship by topping Exeter in the finals by a score of 19-10 on Sunday at Phillips Andover Academy. 
 
Senior co-captain Ryan Ohl led the offense with seven goals in Saturday’s 22-4 victory against Choate. Ten players scored in the win, and the Bruins amassed 21 steals. Goalies JR Lindberg ’26, Martin Robredo ’27, and Marco Leao ’27 combined for 12 saves.

In the championship, the Bruins jumped out to a 5-1 lead after the first quarter and increased their advantage to 11-2 at the half. Ohl and fellow senior co-captain JP Lavin — along with Emil Sogaard-Srikrishnan ’25, Callum Walker ’26, and Neveh Yechiely ’26 — led the charge. Lindberg registered four saves.

In the second half, Ohl, senior Thomas Ewald, and freshman Peter Saunders each scored two goals, and Julio Ubina ’27 and John Landers ’27 each scored one to secure the championship victory. Robredo and Leao made three saves apiece.
 
The Bruins have now won nine consecutive NEPSAC titles.
