JV1 Defeats Kent at Cosby

A great win Saturday afternoon for JV1 despite the weather. We opened up the scoring pretty early on and never looked back. Gianfranco Fajardo continued his run of goals with two against Kent. In the second minute, he finished with a clean strike across the goalmouth hitting the left side netting. Shortly thereafter, Luke Martinez was able to finish off his shot on goal after settling a cross out of the air for a quick 2-0 lead. Right before halftime, Max Stabinsky hit a curling ball from a corner kick straight to Fajardo for an easy finish to go up 3-0. 

 

Despite a slow start to the second half, we were able to score again in the 18th minute. Ben Taylor took the ball straight across the box off Reid Glanville's cross, beating 3 defenders; he cut the ball back between the defenders and beat the goalie going far side. The game ended this way at 4-0 but this was a total team effort. Many players contributed with great effort and solid tactical awareness. It was another strong defensive effort: our goalie Michael Attubato went a full 80 minutes without seeing a true shot on goal.
