The Brunswick freshman football team earned its second win of the season, 28-20, over Greenwich Country Day School on Monday.
After a scoreless 1st quarter, QB Madsen Ehrhart opened the scoring for the Bruins with a 20-yard touchdown pass to Brendan Robinson. Ehrhart completed a pass to Brandon Jean for the two-point conversion to put the Bruins up 8-0.
On the subsequent GCDS possession, Leif Anderson intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown. The try for point failed, putting Brunswick up 14-0. Later in the 2nd quarter, Ehrhart found Declan Cunningham in the end zone; Jaden Montanez ran up the middle for the conversion to make the score 22-0 Brunswick at halftime.
GCDS made some noise in the 3rd quarter, scoring a running touchdown and converting the PAT to make the score 22-8, and then passing for a touchdown but failing to convert to make the score 22-14. In the 4th quarter, Madsen scrambled for another Bruins' touchdown, but the try for point failed to bring the score to 28-14. GCDS completed a long touchdown pass with time expiring to make the final 28-20 Brunswick.
The Bruins will travel to King School in Stamford on Tuesday, October 17, for their next contest.
