The Brunswick 9th grade football team defeated the St. Luke’s Storm at St. Luke’s 18-0 in their season opener.
QB Masden Ehrhart scrambled 18 yards for a touchdown on the Bruins opening drive. The try for point failed. On the ensuing St. Lukes’ possession, Leif Anderson intercepted the Storm at midfield. Following a dynamic run by Jaden Montanez, Ehrhart found Declan Litchfield-Cunningham in the end zone of a touchdown pass. The PAT try failed. The Bruins' defense again stopped the Storm, and the half ended with the Bruins up 12-0.
In the second half, the Bruins continued to dominate. While the third quarter was scoreless, Ehrhart connected with Jackson Pastel for a three-yard touchdown pass in the fourth. Again, the try for point failed, leaving the Bruins up 18-0. Jayden Montanez intercepted the Storm on their final possession to end the game.
The Bruins will face GCDS at the circle field Monday, October 2.
