Brunswick hosted Loomis on Wednesday afternoon, losing 3-0 and dropping to 2-3 on the season.
The teams were evenly matched throughout the first half. While the visitors produced more scoring opportunities, the Bruins possessed well in the midfield and their defense held strong to keep the score at 0-0 for the first 45 minutes.
Loomis wasted no time after the break, scoring less than a minute into the second half: building an attack down the right side and sending the ball into the box, a Loomis striker collected the cross and deposited it past senior GK Phil Stabinsky.
After a series of passes through the midfield in the 60th minute, Loomis had a low shot on goal — Stabinsky made the initial diving save on, but left a rebound for the visitors to put home and make the score 2-0.
The final tally of the afternoon came in the 70th minute when Loomis earned a PK. Once again, Stabinsky stopped the original shot with a diving save to his left, but couldn't collect the ball before it was tapped in on the rebound.
Shouts to sophomore Charlie Perkins for having a solid game defensively, and senior Rowan Glanville playing impactful minutes at midfield.
