Brunswick Libraries

Brunswick has three libraries that serve grades Pre K through 12 and are located on both the Maher Avenue and Edwards Campuses. With more than 25,000 volumes, the focus of the libraries is to support the School's curriculum, assist with research, and provide ample and varied reading for enjoyment. In addition to the book collection, the libraries achieve these goals by subscribing to an academic periodical collection, providing audio and visual materials, and access to a wide array of specialized online databases for current and historical newspapers, magazines, reference books and multiple encyclopedia sources. Access to our collection is available to all members of the Brunswick community and our professional staff is proficient in all manner of information literacy and retrieval, and as a reader's advisor.

The goal of each Brunswick Library is to graduate students as competent users of information, as critical thinkers, constructive managers of knowledge, and to provide them with the tools necessary to embark on a lifetime's exploration into new ideas. Exposure to these skills is the foundation upon which a love of learning can flourish. The Libraries are open to Brunswick & GA Students on campus during school hours, with access to our online resources available from our campus network and from home.

LOWER SCHOOL LIBRARY

The Lower School Library program consists of many parts - early morning library, weekly library classes for every grade level, and special events including author/illustrator visits and the Real Men Read Program. Students learn how to search for books independently, explore the genres of literature, gain experience using the library computer program and learn to use their imagination to focus on the big questions of life. The library provides a quiet space in each boy's busy life and offers our students the opportunity to explore any type of book that interests them. In the library, Lower School boys learn to select and critique books so that they can expand their world(s). Our library is a sanctuary of imaginary space where boys will begin the process of lifelong, independent learning.
