Hockey Finishes Tourney with a Win

Brunswick returned to its winning ways with a 4–1 victory against Pingree (Mass.) in a consolation game at the Brooks-Pingree Holiday Tournament on Sunday. The Bruins went 2-2 at the event, bookending wins at the tourney.

Brunswick (5-2) had great looks at the cage throughout the contest and put a season-high 46 shots on the Highlander goalie.

After a scoreless first period, Aaron Aboodi (7:00) and Cooper Moore (10:00) each netted their first career goals for the Bruins.

The Highlanders got one past Brunswick goaltender Dan Dachille just before the second intermission, making it a 2-1 contest.

With his team leading 2-1 after two periods, Jack Forrest gave Brunswick some breathing room with his first lamp-lighting for the Bruins two minutes into the final frame. The junior deftly worked through a Pingree defensemen and beat the goalie over the glove-side shoulder for the goal and a 3-1 lead.

Brunswick co-captain Nick VanBelle scored his team-leading eighth goal on an empty net to cap the scoring.

Dachille picked up his first win in net for the Bruins, collecting 14 saves, including a few noteworthy stops in the latter segment of the third period.
