In a non-conference tilt to open the season, Brunswick lost to Taft, 65-35, on Wednesday in Dann Gym. The Bruins (0-1) return to action in a week, hosting Millbrook on Wednesday, December 7.
Taft jumped out to a 13-3 lead to start the game. The Rhinos closed out the half with a 22-7 run to take a 35-10 lead into intermission.
The Bruins were outscored 30-25 in the second half, as the Rhinos cruised to the 65-35 final.
Will Marvin led the Bruins with 12 points, connecting on four three-pointers in the game. Khari Wilson netted eight points in his varsity debut.
While Brunswick was outrebounded 32-21 in the game, Jack Malloy grabbed a team-best four caroms, as three others, including Peter Wise, collected three boards apiece.
For the game, Taft made 28 of 59 shots from the floor (.475), compared to Brunswick’s 11-49 (.224) shooting from the field.
