Varsity baseball outscored Greens Farms Academy by the score of 10-5 to earn a victory on Saturday.
The Bruins’ offense got off to a hot start as they were able to put up seven runs in the first inning. The Brunswick hitters all had good approaches at the plate, as they were patient, looked for their pitch, and delivered several hits to jump out to the early lead.
Jackson Shepelsky got the start on the mound for the Bruins and was excellent through four innings. Tyrus Ostrowski pitched the fifth and Jackson Cunningham came in and shut the door on the Dragons' offense in the sixth and seventh.
Some notables: Cunningham got his first appearance on the mound for the year and was fantastic through two innings of work. Jerry Guzman hit his second home run of the year. Jayden Montanez, Alex Giannuzzi, and Shepelsky all delivered RBI singles.
The Bruins have a busy week ahead of them, as they have two very important FAA matchups. They will face Greenwich Country Day on Tuesday and Hamden Hall on Thursday. Calder Glassman will get the start on Tuesday.
