The Brunswick squash team rebounded with a 6-1 win over RCDS on Monday night. Although tired from a long weekend of hard matches in Philadelphia, the Bruins proved their resiliency with a solid road victory.
Carson Beck at #7 and Bennett Klein in the #8 exhibition match started the night with two quick victories for the Bruins.
Will Newton and Thomas Carney faced some skilled opponents in the #2 and #4 positions, but were able to fight through the adversity to each come away with 3-0 wins.
At #6, freshman Jackson Pastel fought hard against an older and more physical opponent, but dropped the Bruins' only loss of the night in a grueling 5 game match.
Cole Cline won the clinching match at #3, allowing Johan Hodgson at #1 and Ike Edmands at #5 to cruise to stress-free 3-0 victories in their positions.
This victory was a good confidence booster for 'Wick after two difficult and emotional losses in Philadelphia, and it leaves the team eager to regroup and refocus their efforts as the second half of the season kicks off against Hopkins in 2024.
