Cross Country Claims FAA Title

Brunswick claimed the FAA Cross Country Championship in dominating fashion, placing four runners in the top eight, led by undefeated sophomore Nathan Lee's victory in course record time on Tuesday at Waveny Park in New Canaan.

Senior co-captain Luke Dougherty's highly anticipated return from injury did not disappoint, as he placed seventh overall. The other five ’Wick runners posted personal bests. Freshman Teddy Hojlo impressively earned second place once again, as he has in each of the season's previous league races. Senior co-captain Patrick Duncan finished eighth overall, defeating a handful of competitors for the first time. And freshman Aramaan Lakhani closed out the scoring, stamping his ticket as the most improved runner in the FAA by passing seven runners in the latter stages to earn the 15th spot.

Highlighting just how well the team is peaking throughout the lineup, freshman Arjun Kolluri and sophomore Alex Mastellone claimed 29th and 36th, respectively, adding late-season speed to match their early strength. Additionally, and finally, even the Halloween costume couldn't prevent a spirited performance and personal record from Josh Greene ’27 in the JV race.

“The enthusiasm for these incredible individual results is only matched by the equal enthusiasm for the team that produced them — and the incredible optimism for the team heading into November,” Head Coach Steve Polikoff said.
