Brunswick went undefeated against FAA competition, including the first such regular season victory over Hopkins in five years, on the tried and true Sherwood Island 5K course on Wednesday.
It was a perfect running weather day, and the Bruins were galvanized by the return from injury of senior co-captain Luke Dougherty, as well as an alumni presence which would not leave disappointed.
Nathan Lee’s remarkable time of 15:50.3 set a course, school, and league record, while the whole team effort incredibly saw an unprecedented seven runners step up to hit personal milestones.
"We believed this dramatic achievement was coming and predicted it," said Head Coach Steve Polikoff. "In so many ways, it was Brunswick cross country's best day ever."
