Two Brunswick literary and artistic e-magazines — The Orient Express and Babel — received gold medals and All-Columbian honors from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) in September.
The Orient Express, a Middle School e-magazine created by Arabic and history students working in collaboration, teaches readers about Middle Eastern culture and helps connect the West to the Middle East — just as the original Orient Express did in the 19th century.
In the words of the CSPA judges, “You created a unique and memorable magazine with a wonderful thematic approach.”
Babel, a multilingual e-magazine containing literary and artistic submissions from Brunswick and Greenwich Academy Upper School students, was recognized for the second straight year for its excellence and creativity in content, presentation, and media.
“Babel's design and art content are a visual feast. The arts and use of color complement each spread; there is a continuity and focus and flow throughout the magazine's content,” said the CSPA judges.
“The magazine exhibits complete conceptual development. Keep up serving as a
trendsetter in the literary/art magazine community.”
