Brunswick connected on 13 three-pointers en route to a 71-68 win over Greens Farms on the road Wednesday. With the win, the Bruins improve to 6-10 overall and 5-4 in FAA action.
Junior Will Marvin opened the baker’s dozen of trifectas, with the opening points of the game as classmate Charlie Sealy capped it with the final long ball to tie the game at 63 apiece in the final minutes of action.
Following Marvin’s three with 2:36 to play in the game, sophomore Raphael Ruban followed with a lay-up to give the Bruins a 65-63 advantage.
After Greens Farms tied the game at 65-65, Brunswick closed out the contest by hitting six consecutive free throws for the 71-68 final.
Three players paced Brunswick with 15 points, including Marvin, senior Nacho Nwana (game-high 10 rebounds), and sophomore Aaron Sabato. Marvin and Sabato each netted all their points from behind the arc as Marvin connected on 5/11, while Sabato sank 5/7 shots from downtown.
Sealy finished with 12 points, while junior Cam Kelly had game-highs with five assists and four steals to go with his eight points.
For the game, Brunswick made 13/31 three-pointers and sank 14/17 from the charity stripe, while being out-rebounded, 44-25.
Up next for the basketball team is a 6:00 p.m. home game against King on Friday, February 6.
