In the opener of the Liquid Four Tournament, the top-seed Bruins swam-off against fourth-seed Hopkins.  Earlier in the season, Brunswick topped Hopkins 13-3 at Mehra Natatorium.

 

Senior Pat Stefanou contributed five goals, while junior Will Marvin netted four goals to pace the Bruins to an easy 13-5 result in the rematch.

 

Leading 12-4 in the fourth quarter, senior Lucas Bell was called upon to attempt a five-meter penalty shot. Bell’s shot rang true, as he notched his third goal of the season, and owns a perfect 2-2 mark in penalty shots for his career.

 

Junior Charlie Pang recorded five saves on eight shots, as Christian Hartch ’19 allowed one goal while making a save in relief.

 

The championship game was the rubber match between Brunswick and Suffield as each team owned a win against each other during the regular season. Suffield’s 6-5 win in October was the lone conference blemish for the Bruins, as Brunswick returned the favor earlier this month with an 11-7 win.

 

Brunswick's defense was the story, stifling the second-seeded Suffield for three quarters, as the Bruins’ offense went on the attack.

 

Leading 9-2 at the break and 14-4 after three quarters, Pang recorded 15 total saves, while allowing just two even-up goals.

 

A trio of Bruins netted five goals in the title tilt, as Stefanou, Marvin, and sophomore Simon Derby accounted for 15 goals.

 

Thacher Scannell ’18 added two scores, as freshman Nico Apostolides rounded out the scoring for Bruins.

     

Tournament honors went to a number of Brunswick swimmers. Stefanou was named Tournament MVP, Pang was tabbed the top goalie, while Marvin and Derby earned All-Tournament accolades.

  

The New England Prep Champions end their season with an overall record of 22-5 and a league record of 13-1.
