For the third consecutive season, the Bruins won the FAA League Championship, topping all comers with 43 points, earning plenty of distance over second-place Hopkins (55) at Waveny Park on Monday.
"The race was rather true to form, our margin of victory not unlike previous meetings," said head coach Steven Polikoff. "In each run this season we have been able to offset one boy's off day with another's outsize performance, while the rest of the squad has taken care of their own business."
Senior Andrew Israel ran shoulder to shoulder with the leaders into the final uphill 500 meter stretch, earning All-League honors with a third-place finish in a time of 17:10. Sophomore Wesley Peisch 17:51 (6th), and juniors Colin MacFaddin 17:54 (8th) and Jack Parkin 17:55 (9th) rounded out the top 10, while each earning All-League recognition.
Junior classmates Brooks Hennessy 18:37 (17th) and Paul Grasso 18:45 (20th) received Honorable Mention status for their performance.
The Bruins have some time off before heading to the New England Championships, hosted by Taft on November 14.
