Bruins Win New England Class B Tennis Championship
On Sunday afternoon -- in a match played at Choate Rosemary Hall -- Brunswick defeated Roxbury Latin, 4-2, to win the New England Class B Tennis Championship.
After losing the doubles point in tightly contested matches, the Bruins ran off four wins in the singles portion of the match to secure the title.
Ben Powis '19, Christian Tanner '15, and Tyler Carney '17 -- along with No. 1-player Jack Turchetta '15 -- each earned crucial singles victories for the second-seeded Bruins.
Willie Turchetta '18, Johnny Rose '16, Boden Polikoff '16, and John DeLucia '18 were also factors throughout the weekend, helping 'Wick to quarterfinal and semifinal triumphs against Berkshire and Hopkins, respectively.
