  • Golf - Varsity (Spring)

    2023 - 2024

The varsity golf team has enjoyed success against New England prep schools as well as a number of strong local programs. Playing a highly competitive schedule on some of the most challenging and historic courses in the area, the Bruins hold a 252-24-8 record since 2011, winning multiple team and individual titles at the most competitive schoolboy events in the region. In the most recent spring seasons of 2019, 2021, and 2022, the squad went 94-4, including an unblemished ‘19 record of 48-0.

Brunswick hosts its own tournament in April at the Round Hill Club, while playing home matches and practicing on a course rotation that includes Bedford Golf and Tennis Club, Burning Tree CC, Fairview CC, the GlenArbor Club, Greenwich CC, Rockrimmon CC, Round Hill Club, and Tamarack CC. Stanwich Club is the Bruins' primary home match site.

Spring break trips involve practice and competition at classic golf destinations like Georgia's Atlanta Athletic Club, East Lake Golf Club, and the Sea Island Club. Florida trips include stops at the TPC at Sawgrass, PGA National, the Bears Club, and the Medalist Golf Club.

Brunswick players, at both the varsity and JV levels, are taught course management skills, match and stroke play strategies, as well as sportsmanship, course etiquette, and the honor and values inherent in the game of golf.

A “golf room” in the Burke Field House boasts three hitting bays as well as a state-of-the-art simulator equipped with a TrackMan launch monitor for detailed swing analysis.

Recent graduates have gone on to play at the collegiate level including Division I programs in the Big 10, Ivy League, Patriot League, as well as top Division III programs including several NESCAC schools.
